MNspin Artist of the Week: Eric Carranza

Eric Carranza is an artist and music educator based in the Lowertown Arts district of Saint Paul. His musical work can be heard on recent albums by artists such as Dem Atlas, Justin Titus and batteryboy to name a few. Eric collaborates and performs with many creative musical artists including Lady Midnight and Molly Brandt. In personal creative endeavors, he has a rich and diverse pool of projects to juggle (Excessive, Jest, SPACEGLOW, Yeti Steady, PRINTS etc.) as well as musical composition and sound design for mobile games, apps, ads, and more. In Early 2020 amidst the new quarantine situation, Eric produced the Batteryboy album titled “Shelter In Love”, in which all members recorded their parts remotely from their homes and sent Eric the tracks to arrange into the final compositions. 2022 saw the release of a few singles from various projects and 2 full length albums including Eric’s instrumental album Subtle Transients Vol. 1 and “Behaviors” by rock outfit, Jest. For this performance, Eric will be performing pieces from Subtle Transients Vol. 1 as well as unreleased material.
