The Twin Cities Climate Resiliency Initiative will bring together individuals and companies that are taking action on their environmental footprint by investing in the local tree canopy and community. See below to see how you can get involved!

In partnership with the Mississippi Park Connection, Green Minneapolis offers group volunteer opportunities throughout the Twin Cities Metro Area. Group volunteer programs are a great team building experience for corporate groups. Projects are available Tuesday – Saturday. Service-learning opportunities are customized for location, group size and date to meet the needs of your group volunteers. All tools and gloves are provided. Learn more.

In partnership with MnDOT, sponsor a section of right of way to provide tree planting and maintenance services. In addition, get company recognition on signage for your support of the project! Green Minneapolis can assist in targeting desired areas of choice. Email mneu@greenminneapolis.org to inquire about sponsoring.

Take action to reduce your carbon footprint. A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gasses (including carbon dioxide and methane) that are generated by our actions. This includes home, work, travel and everything else we do and buy. The average carbon footprint for a person in the United States is 16 tons, one of the highest rates in the world! Calculate your carbon footprint and reduce your impact today.

The Arbor Day Foundation estimates a mature tree will absorb more than 48 pounds of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere during one year. That means it takes about 42 mature trees to remove just one metric ton of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere per year! You can help make a difference by donating to our Twin Cities Urban Forest Fund. Enter the amount of trees you would like to see planted in the box to the right to determine your donation amount. All offset donations go directly to our tree planting partners who are working to plant and maintain trees across the Metro Area!

You can help make a difference by donating to Green Minneapolis to support the operations of the Twin Cities Climate Resiliency Initiative. We appreciate all of your support.
