Green gateways to our city

Hennepin-Lyndale Crossroads

The Hennepin-Lyndale Crossroads is the nexus of some of the region’s most important institutions and civic spaces, and Green Cities Accord anchored the public-private partnership to transform the famous bottleneck into a green gateway to our city.

Green Corridors

New plantings on intersection medians, an ongoing maintenance plan and coordination among stakeholders turned an unkempt and vehicle-focused intersection into a natural oasis welcoming to pedestrians. Green corridors connect people to places.

Looking Forward

In partnership with civic and neighborhood stakeholders, Green Cities Accord developed a plan to expand the plantings north and south to further connect this important cultural intersection with downtown. The site would be further improved with pedestrian improvements at the Dunwoody underpass, including additional lighting, art and landscaping.
